A Guide To Prague: What To Do In Prague Kaleidoscope Peonies

Being a very lucky gal, I was surprised with a birthday trip to Prague from my boyfriend (thaaanks Jamie). I didn't know too much about Prague, but it turned out to be one of prettiest places I've ever visited. The culture is so interesting & singular compared to other places in Europe I've been to.

Here's a little guide of what we got up to, and my favourite parts of our Prague trip.

What To Do

         Escape Room

We were looking for fun new things to do in Prague, and came across an Escape Room on TripAdvisor, called Getaway Prague. We chose the easier of the two escape rooms on offer- 'Prison Room.' The premise was that we were secret agents captured by the enemy and had to escape within one hour. I wasn't expecting how inventive the clues were going to be, and it was also surprisingly nice to have to work together to solve puzzles (especially as we're freakishly competitive). It was a really interesting thing to do, and a little bit different from the norm holiday activity. P.S we tots didn't get out in time & the man had to give us loads of clues on the walkytalky- but at least we tried! I would definitely give one a go if you get the chance.

    Segway Tour

There are randomly so many Segway Tours in Prague. Going along the same thought process as the Escape Room, we decided to try something different. I'm not gonna lie, it was terrifying. Especially going down hill. I also went with the safety first mentality, and hence was always last in the group (well not quite last, I did make Jamie go behind me, he he). It was a cool and different way to see Prague- one that I unfortunately shall NEVER repeat. They look so easy, but they are weird and scary. But maybe some more adrenaline junky type folk would enjoy! See brave face below...

    What To See

We went on lots of walks around Prague and crammed in all the sightseeing (despite it being quite rainy while we were there). The Castle in Prague is absolutely gorgeous, as is Petrin Park- a park filled with different types of orchids. The trees, shrubs and plants in the park all flower at different times of year so it always looks beautiful. When we were there, the cherry blossoms were in full flower which was so pretty. At the top of the Park was Baroque Library Hall which weirdly contained a natural history exhibition and a famous antique chest of drawers exhibition... but it also had a really pretty library.

    Architecture

Probably my favourite thing about Prague was it's architecture. Pretty much every single building was gorgeous and pastel colour. The city is separated into a new town & an old town- all of the pictures below are from the old town- which just had the most beautiful architecture.

Prague quickly became one of my favourite European cities. It is such an interesting and friendly place to visit- there's so much to do and the city itself is absolutely gorgeous. If you're looking for somewhere with lots to do and you are interested in things like architecture and history, you will love it.
